Over the last several election cycles, Illinois Democratic Women has been the only statewide organization training volunteers and candidates across the state. We’ve been to Carlinville, the Metro East, Oglesby, Bloomington and Chicago–just in the last 2 years!
Some past topics include:

  • How to Build a Field Organization
  • Reaching the Obama Voter
  • Fundraising
  • Campus Organizing
  • Social Media
  • The Living Room Candidate
  • Votebuilder Training
  • and much more.

This past fall, we held our first-ever series of women’s issues forums across the state featuring then-Lt. Governor candidate Sheila Simon.

We will continue our tradition of training and educating volunteers, candidates and voters this year.  Be sure to continue to check out our Upcoming Events page to stay up to date on the events coming to your area this year!

Research

When women vote, Democrats win. It’s no secret that the 2010 midterm election was a tidal wave for the Republican Party and will have repercussions for years to come.

We are currently analyzing last year’s election data and preparing for the 2012 Elections. Check back in February for more information and resources as we build to take back Illinois in 2012.
