Spotlight: Alyx Pattison

Alyx Pattison is a graduate of Northwestern University School of Law and is a partner in the litigation department of the Chicago law firm Katten Muchin Rosenman.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Communications from the University of Utah where she completed two legislative internships with Utah state representatives as well as at the Clinton White House. While in Utah, she managed the re-election campaign of a state representative and was elected as a Clinton delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 1996, representing Utah’s 3rd Congressional District.

After moving to Illinois, Alyx spent three years working for Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky in various positions in her campaign and congressional offices in both D.C. and Chicago.  There, her roles included Finance Director and Legislative Aide.

In 2004, Alyx was selected as a delegate by the Illinois Women’s Institute for Leadership (IWIL) and completed IWIL’s year-long program in campaign training.  Alyx was also elected as a Kerry delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 2004, representing Illinois’ 4th Congressional District.

She currently sits on the Chicago Bar Foundation Board which raises money for agencies that provide legal services to the economically disadvantaged — a cause deeply important to her. Ms. Pattison also serves as a community representative on the Local School Council at Jose de Diego, a Chicago Public School in her neighborhood.  She is also serving a two-year term on the Cook County Commission on Women’s Issues for the 10th District and has been active in Gen 44, the young professionals fundraising arm of President Obama’s 2012 campaign.
